Fenn's Sonnet

Forrest Fenn feign name of pen?
Great gift not for now, but for he who knows time -
With little big man lit eyes and heart of like mind?
Methinks he knows then when Fate’s when’s now then when when’s when.
Now thrills now he must feel then now then.
A genius' passion then now like game master Haim,
Lights our eyes too when eyes lit then we see now then lit divine.
Guidestones to gold for he who knows now what lights eyes then lit from within.

With lasting fame from what faith holds Fate to favor these men -
From temple, of valley, stone, wood, mineral and red?
Fate's needle fated fair, still seems hung toward those in Her bed.
Is He not then jealous, His light then of few eyes now to take in?
Most of His children grow blind now then 'til dead.
Now you see Fate is Her heart, He'll soon blacken again.

Don't mess with my sonnet.  Standard scheme - abba abba, bcb bcb.

Hades Sonnets

Death of Orpheus (Archaic)

If Gods who rule the realm below,
Grant one more wish to hear my song.
Yet again will weep Pluto, his guile is strong.
With a balled so sweet of divine tempo.
If I fail, my heart in Hades I shall bestow --
My soul I thrust to the tip of his prong.
Like love in hell, my bride does not belong.
Release her I beg, from death's chateau.

What but melodic cries from the son of Apollo,
Must the dead heed until time comes to end?
I command you Maenads, his notes to follow,
This gentle musician -- silence his song of sorrow.
Allow you must not another note to descend,
However it may seem his plight transcends.

Death of Orpheus (Contemporary)

"If Gods who rule the realm below
Grant one more wish and hear yet another song.
Shall Pluto weep again (my lyre is strong)
With a balled so bitter-sweet, no up-beat tempos?
If I fail, my soul to Hades I'll bestow,
My heart in trust to redeem this wrong.
Like sunlight in hell, my bride does not belong.
Here in the dark. Release her from Death's chateau!"

What but melodic cries from the son of Apollo,
Must the dead heed until time comes to its end?
I command you, Maenads each note to follow.
Silence this gentle musician's song of sorrow.
You must not allow another note to descend,
Rip him apart head, heart and limb.

The rhyme scheme of the octave is the standard abba abba; the sestet, however, presented here, is a somewhat unusual variation: bcb bcc.

Duck Sonnets

Ba Ding (Archaic)

A dented metal duck in a BB arcade.
The poet ponders pacing, to and fro.
His muse decides to arm herself with verbal ammo--
If your pacing proves unable to dissuade,
I shall shout ba' ding at every turn you've made.
That last line left in prose limbo,
A yellow metal duck in a carnie chateau.
Waddling in word wonder -- alas! At least it's no cliche.

What duck dare share a metaphor with the ardent bard?
For the luck of a duck is often ugly and obscene.
Like a hillbilly shot up stop sign, I'm wearing each ba' ding.
As the pacing poet ponders through the undead word junkyard,
A rusty trunk pops open, revealing me inside.
I'm a 2-D metal-duck-cutout with no place left to hide.

Da Bling (Contemporary)

A dented metal duck in a BB arcade --
A poet ponders pacing to and fro.
A demon muse bored ornery sent to orchestrate the show --
"If your pacing proves unable to dissuade,
I will shout ba ding at every turn you make".
Our poet's last line should've dangled, but she zapped him on the fro --
A yellow metal duck in a carnie chateau.
Waddling in word wonder -- onomatopoetic quackery! Cliches!

What duck dare share its image with the charmed bard?
For the luck of a duck is often ugly and obscene.
Like a chrome dipped grill on a broken down Chevy, I'm missing a few teeth.
As our pacing poet ponders through an undead word junkyard,
A rusty trunk pops open, resurrecting this same life --
Still a 2-D metal-duck-cutout, but not for long bitches!

The archaic verision has a common rhyme scheme throughout.  The contemporary version has the standard abba abba for the octave, however the sestet is the other.
